Frequently Asked Questions

We know you've got questions, so we've got answers!

What File types do you accept?

We normally accept  your file as .pdf or .eps. If you can, using vector is best. Also, please be sure to outline all text or send font files with your artwork if you have specific fonts you use.

What resolution should I send?

Resolution should be 300 dpi. Low resolution images are not recommended for print. If you can use vector there is no need to worry about resolution.

Will I get a proof of my order?

Yes you will be emailed a digital proof. Arrangements can be made for a physical proof in some cases.

How long does it take to get a proof?

Depending on the complexity of the design and the finishing, some proofs can take more than 24 hours however most proofs are done in 24 hours or less.

What kind of paper will be used for my print job?

Creative Color can print on a wide array of paper, materials, and substrates. Let us help you pick the right substrate for your project.

What is bleed?

Bleed is a printing term that is used to describe a document that has images or elements that touch the edge of the page, extending beyond the trim edge and leaving no white margin.  When a document has bleed, it must be printed on a larger sheet of paper and then trimmed down.

Setting up bleed. Please keep all text at least 0.125" inside the cut-line.

- The bleed for Standard Products is 0.125".
- The bleed for Booklets and Presentation Folders is 0.25".

Please only send in the final image to be printed, unless images are linked in illustrator or photoshop. Sending in extra images could lead to the wrong file being printed.

What color mode should my files be in?

Your artwork will be printed in CMYK, so it is best to start in that mode. Keep in mind what you see on your monitor is not a true representation of what will be printed. If color matching is important, please contact us so we can arrange for print samples.

What is vectorizing?
